International Luxury Homes Specialist Barbara Ashley-Jones was born in Guyana, moved to the U.S. in 1968 and launched a stellar career in banking in 1973.
She served as Assistant Treasurer and Bank Operations Manager for a New York-based international bank before relocating to Orlando in 1987.
Barbara served as Operations Manager at The First FA Bank in Orlando from 1988 to 1993, during which time she earned her Florida Mortgage Broker license and her Florida Real Estate license.
Now a long-time resident of the Lake Nona area after living in the Pine Hills area for 10 years. Barbara is a very diverse and active Realtor on the Premier Sotheby's International Realty team covering the Central Florida and which include new communities like Lake Nona, Medical City/Laurette Park and Saint Cloud market areas. She brings tremendous experience to the communities and has contacts locally, nationally and internationally.
Barbara is a graduate of Bronx Community College, American Institute of Banking, Realtor® Institute. She is a Florida Real Estate Military Specialist and a Military Relocation Professional she currently serves on the Professional Development Forum and the Grievance committee for Orlando Reginal Realtor Association (ORRA).
She was recognized in 2013 by the Honor Society for Florida Realtors and in 2013, 2014 and 2015 by ORRA Honor Society.
Barbara has a commitment to excellence and personal service to the community. She previously worked with county commissioners on various projects that ultimately benefits the Orlando community and she does volunteer work such as helping with the Homeless Shelter, Kids with Autism, Crisis Hotlines and Share-a -Meal for the Ronald McDonald House.
A previous member of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida Board (CACCF) since 1994, Barbara served as Treasurer of that organization and as founding treasurer of the Guyanese American Cultural Association of Central Florida (GACACF). Barbara contributed real Estate articles in the then Caribbean Sun News Papers from 2004 to 2009 which helped many first time home buyers to follow their American dream.
She was appointed by Orange County Commissioners to serve on the Orange County Minority Women Business Enterprise from 1999 to 2001. In 2002 she was appointed on Orange County Housing Finance Authority board and served from 2002 to 2012, and served as chairman from 2009 through 2011.
Barbara is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the Orlando Regional Real Estate Association (ORRA), the Global Real Estate Council of Orlando, the St Cloud Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Nona Area Council.
Barbara is the founder of Nona Business Alliance, where a group of business people meet in a friendly environment to provide mutual support and exchange solid business development and leads.

An avid traveler, music lover and a great cook. Barbara spends at least a week annually cruising or vacationing, bonding with her family.
